Our music video is of the rock/indie genre. This genre does not have a certain fixed type of music video, however indie videos are normally quite different and performance based. We decided to also make an performance based video but with a twist. We contrasted the different elements of mise en scene with location and costume. But we were influenced in a video by existing videos, this is shown in the video below.

We were also influenced by you me at six's camera work. They had a performance based music video of the whole baned playing the song. In their performance they have a variety of different camera shots and camera angles, we decided that we wanted a few different camera angles, but not as many as them because we wanted to emphasise the different costumes that we were wearing and thought it would be more effective if we had the same shot in different costumes. However we did decide to have a few close ups to get the full expressions of my face when singing about the girl, and as you me at six did close ups very well, we tried to emulate them and so they were a big influence on us.
Digipak Influences on Prezi
As you can see from the pictures below, we shot our video in many different locations and contrasted our costumes with the background. We wear a variety of different costumes in different locations, from smart to scruffy. This chalenges the genre of our video as we dressed in pyjamers which is something you would not normally see a band do. We thought this made our video more interested to watch and also gave it a comedy element.
Moreover the dominant element of our music video is the static shot with changing backgrounds and costumes. This lets the audience see our different costumes that contrast with the background more clearly. We thought this would be a great idea as it is something different to watch and makes it more interesting to see what we would be wearing.
