Research - Review Of My Favourite Student Video

Tantrums - Gorpse (Music Video - A2 Media @ Bilborough College)

This video has its ups and downs, but overall i thought the students did a pretty good job in making this music video. I liked the way they have shown the POV (Point Of View) of the main singer at the start and quickly jump back to a third person shot to show who the audience are becoming. I also liked the way they have cleverly used un-focused shots to show the vision of the singer during the POV shot, and gives the audience a feel of what he must be experiencing. I also liked the way the other band members meet up with him in the forest and then shows a close up of the singer' lip sync.

To be honest these students haven't done a very good job in making this video seem professional, if anyone were to look at this video they would be able to tell straight away this was a low budget student video. There several drawbacks to this video which strongly suggests this, from the poor lighting in some shots and the 1960's special effects towards the end.
Overall i think its pretty decent, but they could have made it better, without trying so hard on the editing and possibly looking for better ad mroe interesting locations.
